Rental Procedures
The rental period is one week/seven nights however shorter stays are available upon request and rates are therefore calculated on a nightly basis. A 10% Government Tax is added to the villa rental amounts and an 8% Administrative Fee is added to a guest's total bill. Please note that rates are subject to change without notice and special rates apply over the Christmas and New Year festive period. You can be flexible as to the days of the week for arrival or departure, depending, of course, on the availability of the villa.
Villa rates are quoted in US Dollars and are on European Plan. The tariff includes;
• Airport welcome by Mustique staff and transfers to your specific villa
• A minimum of three (3) household staff: cook, maid, gardener
• Complimentary use of one vehicle
• Laundry and Ironing Services
• Six floodlight tennis courts (complimentary)
• Fitness Trail
• Managing Director's weekly Cocktail Party on Tuesday evenings in the Great Room of the Cotton House
• Transfer returns to the airport upon departure
Deposits
Reservations must be accompanied at the time of booking by a 20% deposit. However, a reservation cannot be confirmed until 8 months prior to the date of arrival, at which time the 20% deposit becomes non-refundable. A further payment of 40% is required 6 months prior to the date of arrival and is non-refundable. The remaining balance of 40% is due 3 months prior to the date of arrival and is non-refundable.
GUESTS ARE THEREFORE ADVISED TO PURCHASE TRAVEL INSURANCE.
To avoid delays, EXCHANGE RATE FLUCTUATIONS AND BANK CHARGES, it is requested that payments be made by bank telegraphic transfer to: Mustique Company Ltd. Banking details can be provided by the Villa Rentals department or one of our approved suppliers.
However, if a certified cheque or cashier's cheque is more convenient, either can be mailed to the Company at its Mustique mailing address. Consult the post office for correct postage and allow sufficient time for mailing. Payments shall not be considered to have been made until they are actually received by the Company. Neither the Mustique Company, the owner or its agents will be responsible for bank charges. Deposits can be made by credit card.
Settlement of Accounts
Invoices/bills can be signed and paid weekly or upon departure. Cash, traveller’s cheques, American Express, MasterCard and Visa cards are acceptable means of settling accounts. However, personal cheques are not accepted.
Check-out time is 12 noon
All efforts are made to have villa accommodations available upon arrival on the island. However, immediate availability cannot always be guaranteed but we will do our best to meet your needs.
Mustique Villa Rental Terms and Conditions
Liability
Mustique is a private island owned by the Company and its licensees, and managed by the Company. In consideration of being extended the privilege of visiting Mustique and using its amenities, each guest acknowledges and assumes the risk of injury, death, property loss or damage arising out of use of the island and all amenities thereon, from hazards known and unknown.
Neither the Company nor the villa owner, nor any employees and agents of either, shall be liable for any injury, death, property loss or damage occurring to any occupant of a villa or user of the island, and the undersigned guest hereby agrees to hold the Company and the villa owners, and all employees and agents thereof, harmless from any and all claims, suits, liabilities, damages, and expenses of every kind, including, without limitation, attorneys’ fees and costs of litigation or arbitration, arising out of any claim by or in favor of any person resulting from injury, death or property loss or damage occurring to any person in the undersigned’s party or any person using the villa as an invitee of either the undersigned or a person in the undersigned’s party, whether such injury, death, loss or damage occurs on Mustique, in or upon the surrounding waters, or during transit to and/or from Mustique.
Confidential Information and Photography
The undersigned guest acknowledges that in the course of a visit he and his guests will have access to confidential information relating to the business, shareholders and clients of the Mustique Company Limited and licensees of the Mustique Company Limited being other visitors to the island including in particular (by way of illustration only and without limitation) photographs, films or other recordings taken or made by them or any person whatsoever of owners and renters of villas and their guests on the island of Mustique, whether it be within private villas or in the shared areas of the island.
The undersigned guest therefore agrees to accept the restrictions in this clause. The undersigned guest shall not use or disclose and shall ensure that any guest of his shall not use or disclose to any person or company or other entity any confidential information unless it be for strictly personal use and not for direct or indirect gain and not in such a way as would be likely directly or indirectly prejudice any other person, including by infringement of their privacy.
The undersigned guest hereby agrees to hold the the Company and all employees and agents thereof harmless from any and all costs of every kind including, without limitation, attorneys’ fees and costs of litigation or arbitration, arising from any attempt deemed reasonable by the Company in its sole discretion to prevent the disclosure of such information by him or any of his guests or to secure the safe return or disposal of such information.
The law of St Vincent and the Grenadines and driving
All persons on Mustique must comply with the laws of St Vincent and the Grenadines, including but not limited to driving regulations. Additionally, no person is entitled to drive on Mustique if not in possession of the ‘Mustique Right to Drive’. The undersigned guest agrees to comply with and ensure that his guests comply with all driving regulations, including but not limited to the prohibitions on driving under the age of 18, driving whilst under the influence of drink or drugs and driving carelessly or dangerously.
The undersigned guest hereby agrees to hold the the Company and all employees and agents thereof harmless from any and all costs of every kind including, without limitation, attorneys’ fees and costs of litigation or arbitration, arising from any attempt deemed reasonable by the Company in its sole discretion to prevent the breach of any driving regulation by the undersigned guest or any guest of the undersigned guest or to advance any legal action against persons in breach of any driving regulation by the undersigned guest or any guest of the undersigned guest.
The undersigned guest hereby agrees to hold the the Company and all employees and agents thereof harmless from any and all costs of every kind including, without limitation, attorneys’ fees and costs of litigation or arbitration and damages, arising from any legal action against the Company arising from the breach of any driving regulation by the undersigned guest or any guest of the undersigned guest.
The Mustique Company Limited
Each villa is a private home. The Mustique Company Ltd. (the "Company") acts as agent for the owner in facilitating the rental.
Villa Staffing and Vehicle Use
The villas are fully staffed by the owners with a cook, maid and gardener, and in many instances, additional personnel. Members of household staff are employees of the villa’s owner and not of the Company. Each villa includes a vehicle. Additional vehicles are available for hire.
The undersigned guest is responsible for all acts of the undersigned guest’s family and all other persons invited into the villa.
Guests must keep the villa and all appliances, equipment, furniture, furnishings and other personal property supplied therewith, clean and in good order and repair. Failure to do so will entitle the owner, or the Company on behalf of the owner, to make appropriate repairs at the undersigned guest’s expense. However, guests are not responsible for ordinary wear or damages by the elements. Guests must give the Company immediate notice in case of fire or other damage to the villa or contents.
Law
This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
